Abbamania Concert

Highway 54 Band

The front act. Highway 54 Band

The kids and I watched ABBAMANIA performed at the Resorts World Manila last Thursday. Thanks to our sponsor – the Journal Group of Publications for giving us three complimentary tickets. We arrived at the venue at around 8pm. The concert started 10 minutes later. The opening act was Highway 54 band. They sung mostly the popular upbeat songs in the 70’s to 80’s. Listening (grooving) to their songs relive my preschool days (kidding haha).

And the main event of the show…

Dancing queen

Dancing queen

Abbamania is one of the many tribute shows being produced since ABBA (the worldwide phenomenon Swedish pop band) was disbanded in 1982. Quoting Joaquin Henson’s post in philstar.com, Abbamania is recognized as one of the most authentic ABBA tribute shows in the world. Authentic because they sounded and looked like the real ABBA.

Mamma mia!

Super trouper

They sung almost all of my favorite ABBA songs: Voulez Vouz, I Have A Dream, Honey Honey, Gimme, Gimme, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Mamma Mia!, Thank You for the Music, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, The Winner Takes It All, Waterloo, and many more.

The crowd cheering for more songs by the end of the song medley.

It was an awesome experience. The kids and I enjoyed watching our first concert together. The performers may not be the original ABBA, but they were able to relive the ABBA magic.

Thanks ABBA for your music!

Planning to revive my SSS and Philhealth contributions

One of my plans this year is to continue paying my SSS contribution. I will be paying as voluntary member since I’m not employed. I have yet to visit the nearest SSS office in our area to know more about the things I have to secure in order to continue my SSS contribution. My sister…

A lingering and lifelong medical condition is something that many adults tend to live with and suffer through perhaps out of the fear of the unknown. One of those medical conditions that is usually handled in this manner is known as lazy eye or strabismus. This tends to happen as one is born with one…

Family time at Fort Santiago

It’s been a while since the family visited a park. So, the Dad hastily encouraged (Dad finally agreed after hearing enough of my nagging hehe..) everyone to spend Saturday afternoon at Fort Santiago. It was the first time for the kids to visit the historical site. Hubby served as our personal tourist guide explaining to…

Just a few dollars short

I’m counting the weeks before I finally get my first ever payment from Google Adsense. If I may recall, it was in 2009, the same year when I set up my first personal blog that I started earning as ad publisher. Now, after four long years, I will be able to reach the payment threshold….
