When I cook Sinigang na Bangus (sa miso), I see to it to prepare fried Bangus as counterpart. My family loves the combination of tamarind base soup and the crispy fried fish. It’s always like that. Did you notice the fish gizzard? That’s actually my favorite part.

Unable to conceive
I’m saddened by the turn of events on my cousin’s life. She got married last year. Family and friends are expecting that she would conceive a few months after the wedding as she is not getting any younger. We are thrilled by the idea and already discussing about the designs of baby announcements to send out to our relatives just in case she’ll announce her pregnancy. However, we were shocked when she broke the news to us that she has cancer. The cancer cells have spread fast and doctors have to immediately remove the affected breast. Doctors admitted to my cousin that she can no longer bear a child because of her condition.Despite the trials in their lives, my cousin and her husband remain steadfast…hopefully my cousin will recover from her sickness…I wish my cousin well…

Hubby used to consume five or more sticks of cigarettes a day. He quit smoking when he develops a smoker’s cough, a kind of cough seen in smokers which develop as a consequence of phlegm build up in the trachea. If during those times electric cigarette was already in the market I might recommend it to him while he is gradually adjusting to the occasional cravings. Electronic cigars are battery-operated device used by experts as harm-reduction strategy in the treatment of nicotine addiction. Electronic cigars provides the same flavor and physical sensation of the traditional cigarette. However, it doesn’t give off harmful smoke. They only produce water vapor from the purified, liquid nicotine. I’m not promoting smoking as I’m totally against it and do not like to see my kids puffing a stick one day. My husband said electronic cigarette can help heavy smokers ease their cravings as they gradually withdraw the bad habit.
Snacking on strawberries
I bought two packs of strawberries for P100 at the Commonwealth Market last week. It’s rare that I get to see strawberries sold at the fruit stand so the minute that I saw them, I readily grabbed two packs.
I read from an article that strawberries are perfect summer snack and can make a person slimmer. Nutritionists said strawberries are so light on calories and full in nutrients, from omega 3 to cancer-fighting polyphenols. Weight-loss coaches said a half a cup of strawberries provides over 70 percent of daily Vitamin C, fiber and collection of antioxidants. This has been proven effective so I don’t have to search for the best weight loss pills in the market. All I need to think about now is calculate how many kilos of strawberries I need to consume in order to achieve its slimming effect. 
Trinkets
I was fixing my box of trinkets and saw these bracelet and pair of earrings inside (similar to the photo). These jewels are personalized gift of my friend Lorena several Christmases ago. She is so good at designing her own jewels and even sends them abroad to her sisters. She sells them at reasonable prices. I miss her and her kindness to me and my family. She treats my kids as her own. She and hubby were friends long before I came to know my future husband. She never fails to call me despite her busy schedule as a mom and a student. She just graduated from her second course and hoping to be a registered nurse someday. She always reminds me to include her in my prayers. Even if she don’t request for it, she is in my thoughts and always wish for her all the good things in life. Miss you Lors.
