Going organic

My maternal grandmother took care of me when I was a baby. She introduced me to natural products found in our backyard like guava leaves and coconut oil for treatment and good grooming. Boiled guava leaves, she said treat and heal wounds faster. It is also best to ease skin itchiness caused by common skin infection. Coconut oil (the extract of toasted coconut meat), on the other hand, is best use as leave on hair conditioner to make the scalp and hair healthy and shiny. On rare instances, I still apply coconut oil on my and daughter’s scalp to soften dirt and dandruff before we wash our hair. Since coconut oil strengthens the hair stands it act like an anti-hair fall shampoo as well.

There are several beauty clinics and even spas nowadays that offer organic shampoo. I’m not sure just how much percentage of the natural ingredient was put in the actual product. My former office mate, who is brand conscious, is currently using a coconut shampoo which she describes as the best natural shampoo. I ask her why it is so. She said that all the ingredients, the wrappers and other materials used in the packaging are made from recyclable or reusable materials. I realized that my fashionista friend is also aware and actually taking part in the campaign to save the environment.

She said she bought the organic product because she believes in the thrust of the company (use and preservation of natural products). I researched about Body Flavors Enterprises and found that its founder (Ms. Azenith C. Badana, or simply Zeth) is a nature lover and advocate of programs that help preserve Mother Nature. The company takes pride in their products that are pure organic, 100 percent natural, Virgin Coconut Oil-based (VCO), safe on the skin, has faster results, products are available in natural flavours, are eco-friendly, and recyclable.
