Time for yourself

You’ll get your hands full in a few days because it’s back to school season again. You’ll wake up early to cook and prepare the kids for school. You may catch a few minutes to an hour of sleep when the kids are at school, but you can only do this after cleaning and tidying up the house. Will you have time for yourself? Of course, you do. It’s a matter of time management (as my friends always say).

After the cleaning is done, you can put in a movie to watch, or enjoy the book that you’ve been planning to read while listening to the soothing sound in the background. You don’t need to buy Behringer instruments to enjoy a great sound within the confines of your own home. You can run errands and get yourself a little something. You can fix your favorite food, too if you are in the mood to cook. You can add a lot of other activities to your list. The possibilities are endless.

When I lost my helper

I feel at a loss when our helper of several years bade us goodbye. For a long time, I trust the cleaning, laundry and taking care of the young kids to her. I still handle the budgeting and cooking stuff most of the time. I can leave the kids to her for a few days when I was assigned to cover an out-of-town event. Such was an easy arrangement for us until she decided to settle down. During that time, I was already thinking of resigning from work and her asking to leave was timely.

When the helper finally left, I thought I could handle everything with ease since the kids can do personal things on their own. I felt the burden of household chores after a few weeks. I thought I’ll never survive that episode. I was thankful and still am to a wonderful husband for coming to my rescue.

With my husband’s help, I was able to learn more here that I need to manage my time well, one task at a time, to accomplish something for a day.

I’m happy because…

1. Its sunny today. I hang our clothes and bed sheets to dry. We save energy from air-drying clothes instead of using the electric dryer.

2. Got some good news from my Marce Kaye last night. 🙂

3. I’m expecting someone to give me something this week. The amount isn’t big enough to pay the cost of motorhome repair, but it’s large enough to reduce my debts.

4. I’m looking forward to catching up on some sleep after posting this…
