Repost: Sweet gestures

happy-couple2

Hubby is not the demonstrative type. But it doesn’t mean he isn’t sweet.  We hold hands when we are watching TV in the living room or when we are traveling. Sometimes he would massage my back if I request (demand) for it. 😀 He would give me a pat on the back (as if saying kaya mo yan, hehe) when I’m washing the dishes or preparing the table. He would give me water or juice if I’m busy with something. I request him to assist me in certain task at home without complain and lately he does most of the tasks by himself especially when he knows that I’m rushing an assignment. That’s how my husband made me feel special although there are times I tend to overlook his kind gestures. On my part, I’m showing my affection by giving him a peck on the cheek or a smack. I would like to embrace him kahit na sobrang init ng panahon. I’m not sure if that’s trying to be mushy or what. But that’s what I am even to my kids. I like to kiss and embrace them when I have the chance to do it. When I’m in the mood I would give hubby a back and head massage, mix his favorite juice drink, and if time permits cook him his favorite Sinigang na ulo ng isda sa miso with matching kalamansi and sili for sawsawan. He loves that dish.

Cellphone shot

That’s how plain and simple we express ourselves as a couple, but most importantly we never forget to say I love you when we go to sleep at night and before ending our conversation on the phone. This is my cheesy post for Valentine’s Day. 🙂 Have a sweet and memorable celebration with your loved ones! 🙂

A fun day out with friends

marces

I haven’t gone out with friends in a while so when I saw these amazing women after nearly two years I can’t help but be teary-eyed. It was tears of joy, just happy to see my friends.

The meet-up was not just a simple get-together but a sweet birthday treat for me. They treated me to a delish lunch. I also got this Pantene gift box with a surprise birthday card from my inaanak and GCs (I’m checking if guitars from jackson can be purchased with it) from her equally thoughtful mom. One of them gave each one of us this creative calendar with the photos of our respective family members.

The birthday treat didn’t end there. While we accompany one of our kumares in the salon for a hair fix, they also treated me to a hair makeover. What I’ve got is a new hairstyle that shed years off my age and it also brought an illusion of a bit smaller face. Haha. But I loved it!

Thank you my friends for that wonderful and magical (for the hair transformation LOL) afternoon. I had a great time bonding with you. I hope to see you again soon. Love y’all!

On your 18th birthday my dear daughter

my baby

(Sabi ko sa sarili ko hindi ako mag-e-emo while writing this, but couldn’t help it. Ang hirap ‘di maging emotional if you are writing about the people dear to you.)

Dad and I are happy that you have grown to be a good person. We haven’t had any issues with you regarding your studies and choice of friends. You have adjusted to college life pretty well. We hope that you’ll be able to ace your thesis subject this term. One more term and you’ll be in third year. Parang kailan lang, worried pa kami ni Daddy that you might have difficulty adjusting to college life.

Ang reason talaga kung bakit ako emo – hindi ka namin mabigyan ng kahit simpleng birthday party man lang to celebrate your 18th birthday. We know how important 18th birthday is to a young woman. We can only afford to treat you to a simple salo-salo. Pang-family lang talaga. Thankfully, you understand and you’re okay with it. However, we are lucky enough that Dad was able to secure an over-night hotel accommodation for the four of us. Bihira lang ang libreng hotel accommodation so we have to use it soon.

Just like in your previous birthdays, Dad and I wish and pray for your health and wisdom, that you’ll be able to finish your studies and reach your dream.

Happy birthday, bebeh ko! You will always be mommy’s baby girl. I love you!
