I thought my daughter was joking when she texted me “MOMMY NANALO KAMI”. She was so thrilled because they won the coveted Best Student Short Film of the 38th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) on Wednesday night (October 12, 2016). She and the whole group, namely Gabbie, Rio, (without Maja) and adviser were present at the event held at the Star Theater, Star City, CCP Complex in Pasay City.  My daughter said they were nervous the whole time and didn’t expect to bag the award so they were surprised when their entry was announced as the winner.

I knew how my daughter and her friends (Gabbie, Rio and Maja) worked hard for their thesis which is an 8-12 minute animation about the parable of the prodigal son, aptly titled The Prodigal Son. They struggled all through those sleepless nights, sweat and tears, to be able to finish the project despite having to attend to their other classes for the entire school year. Now their hard work has been recognized by the prestigious award giving body for its significance to the community.

Indeed, I’m so HAPPY for them, especially for my daughter. We thank God for all these blessings. #proudmommymoment  #thankful  #blessed

Best 2D Artwork

best in 2d artwork

Family and friends were very happy and thankful that Naomi was able to bag the Best 2D Artwork in the recently concluded SPOTLIGHT: Digital Arts Project and Presentation Exhibit 10.0. The award was given on May 20, 2016 at T905 Tech Building FEU Institute of Technology. We are thankful to all our relatives and friends who helped in liking and sharing the photo on Facebook. The entry garnered 600 something votes. While another artwork collected more votes, Naomi’s entry was able to get the judges nod. 🙂

*** I re-use plastic or bottle containers at home. This way my household don’t add up to the burden of garbage management in my city; I turn off the lights when they are not in use; most of the light bulbs that we use at home are energy savers; except for important assignments, we don’t allow kids to stay as long as they want in front of the computer.

I’m now sharing this tag to all responsible inhabitants of Mother Earth, that means YOU! Come on grab the tag now and do your share. Show that you care. 🙂
