Memorable ABBAMania Concert

Highway 54 Band
The front act. Highway 54 Band

The kids and I watched ABBAMANIA performed at the Resorts World Manila two years ago. Thanks to our generous sponsor for giving us the gcs. We were welcomed by the grooving music of Highway 54 band, they served as the opening act for ABBAMania. They sung mostly the popular upbeat songs in the 70’s to 80’s. Listening to their songs relive my younger years.

Abbamania is one of the many tribute shows being produced since ABBA (the worldwide phenomenon Swedish pop band) was disbanded in 1982.

They sung almost all of my favorite ABBA songs: Voulez Vouz, I Have A Dream, Honey Honey, Gimme, Gimme, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Mamma Mia!, Thank You for the Music, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, The Winner Takes It All, Waterloo, and many more.

It was an awesome experience. The kids and I enjoyed watching our first concert together. The performers may not be the original ABBA, but they were able to relive the ABBA magic.

Thanks ABBA for your music!

Family Emergency Preparedness Food Checklist

Have you had this panic attack every time you read or heard about the earthquake which experts said could strike and isolate Metro Manila? I do. While the family discussed about this in passing, we don’t have a solid plan yet on what to prepare or do when earthquake happens. I told the kids that wherever they may be when earthquake hits the area they should try not to panic and protect themselves (and please try to reach home safe).

Department of Health Photo: There is a high risk of malnutrition during emergencies like typhoons. What should be in your emergency food stock list to prevent this from happening to you and your family? (Please click on image to enlarge.)

Useful information about emergency preparedness suggests that a family secure a food checklist. The 72-hour emergency kit includes non-perishable goods, medicine, among others, but the food checklist includes a variety of non-perishable and nutritious goods enough to sustain a family for a few days.

Please check on the picture above to find out the necessary goods to stock at home in preparation for emergency situation.

Repost from my other blog:

A fun day out with friends

I haven’t gone out with friends in a while so when I saw these amazing women after nearly two years I can’t help but be teary-eyed. It was tears of joy, just happy to see my friends.

The meet-up was not just a simple get-together but a sweet birthday treat for me. They treated me to a delish lunch. I also got this Pantene gift box with a surprise birthday card from my inaanak and GCs (I’m checking if guitars from jackson can be purchased with it) from her equally thoughtful mom. One of them gave each one of us this creative calendar with the photos of our respective family members.

The birthday treat didn’t end there. While we accompany one of our kumares in the salon for a hair fix, they also treated me to a hair makeover. What I’ve got is a new hairstyle that shed years off my age and it also brought an illusion of a bit smaller face. Haha. But I loved it!

Thank you my friends for that wonderful and magical (for the hair transformation LOL) afternoon. I had a great time bonding with you. I hope to see you again soon. Love y’all!
