Nosebleed

I’m having a hard time localizing English technical terms to Tagalog (our popular spoken language in the Philippines). How fast can you translate the phrase, project management software? If you are an IT (information technology) expert, it would be easy for you to localize that phrase otherwise you’ll be staring blankly at the computer monitor like me. lol How about this one? The boot configuration data was corrupt. It isn’t easy right? Imagine me localizing that sentence and at least 30,000 more terms in similar category. I’m beginning to feel dizzy! 🙁

Internet shop

My sister and her ex-boyfriend used to operate an Internet cafe. But they were forced to close down for failure to meet the high cost of operation including the exorbitant rentals. Somehow my sister blamed the lack of trusted people to man the shop when they are not around. The person left to oversee the business during daytime may have been too lax in performing her duty so they failed to meet their target earning. They should have installed wireless security systems at the time the computers where set up. Security cameras will help them monitor dishonest customers and negligent supervisor. My sister has learned her lessons well. She will never venture in the same business in the future.

Road trip 2

camcorder

Travel wouldn’t be exciting without a handy camera or a camcorder to capture moments with your family and friends and places you’ve been to. During our field trip to Subic last February I was able to take some pictures of people, events and places there. I could have taken more but I’m afraid the camera would drain the batteries before the tour ends.

I’m happy with the pictures although they are not as crisp as professional photographers would have taken them. Anyway, the whole trip was fun and educational for the students. We are looking forward to similar trips in the future and I hope my daughter and husband will join us next time. Expect more pictures then and hopefully clearer and longer videos. Till next! 🙂
