Cute PMC Tokens

These are the cute items I received from each mom during the PMC 2nd Grand EB last Nov. 22. I requested my daughter to take these photographs while I’m resting from flu. These were the only ones left inside my loot bag after my kids took the items that they like. The perishable goods from Kaye, Fedhz, Rossel and other moms are not in the pictures because they were consumed days before these pix are taken. 🙂

The PMC EB was truly a memorable one for me. I can safely say that it’s indeed a Friends and Family event, when everyone is treated like a long-lost family member. I might bring my kids to the next EB who knows when. 🙂

PMC Camaraderie at the 2nd Grand EB

It was a great experience to be with other members of the Pinay Mommies Community during the 2nd Grand EB held last Nov. 22. It’s a big gathering of Filipina mommy bloggers in Manila to date. I can’t afford to miss it like the first PMC Grand EB last April so I went despite being sick that day. The meeting place was at Aling Tonya’s Seafood Restaurant in Pasay City.

Despite the gloomy weather, close to 50 mommies and their loved ones came. We have a total of 126 members from various places here and abroad, but not all can make it to the occasion.

Everyone one was in jovial mood that day sharing stories from serious to funny stuff, and yes, food. The occasion was even made more exciting by the token exchange, distribution of loot bags and drawing of raffle prizes. No one came home empty-handed.

The PMC 2nd Grand EB was a success because of the hardworking mommies behind it. Special mention to Mommy Ruby Ricafrente and Marce Peh Pineda.

We highly appreciate the big contribution of our sponsors namely Smart Steps, Unilab, Ascorbic Acid Ceelin, Ibuprofen Dolan for the various products given to each moms during the program.

We would also thank our minor sponsors: Umami, Scotch Brite, PnG, Geiser Maclang, Ainon, Avon, Drypers.

We also have other sponsors, Richwell, Grendha, Goldquest Biotechnologies, World of Wellness, Krazy Pix Photobooth (owned by Mommy Iris).

I was called twice during the raffle. The first was from Grendha (the prize will be delivered to my address), and the second one from World of Wellness (wellness products) .

The success of the PMC Grand EB does not end here. The PMC is looking forward to other activities like supporting a charity project and another gathering may be in the offing next month.

An Appreciation to PMC

Here is something to make you fellow PMC members smile today. 🙂

We did not hog the headlines or something. We were actually given a good spot on page 2 of today’s issue (Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011) of People’s Tonight.

Thanks to the gracious editor, Ms. Tess Lardizabal, for accommodating us. 🙂

And thanks for the opportunity to be with other moms during the jovial occasion last Tuesday. I’m sure it’s not going to be the last as there will be more EBs to come. 🙂

A blogger’s tip when covering mommy events

You might want to bear these *tips in mind when covering mommy events:

  1. Make sure to take photos of all the speakers and presenters in the event
  2. Capturing 2 or 3 slides from audio-visual presentation will also prove beneficial
  3. Take a photo of the attendees would also seem like a practical thing to do. Of course, it will be hard to round up all the participants in a single photo, so you can also do this in small groups
  4. You can also take videos of presentations, especially if it involves cooking or other product demonstration.
  5. Capturing candid mommy/child moment of the participants will also be a good idea.

World Book and Copyright Day Celebration

The kids and I attended a free seminar conducted by the National Book Development Board, the Intellectual Property Philippines and the Filipinas Heritage Library at the Technoportal UP-AyalaLand in Quezon City, last Friday. The occasion marked the celebration of World Book and Copyright Day. I’ve learned about the event through mommy Rossel. Thank you, sis.

Our original plan was to attend the Book Illustration Workshop for kids conducted by the Adarna House. My kids are looking forward to that event. It was scheduled after lunch, but unfortunately, we didn’t make it on time.

We’re able to catch half of the Food and Travel Writing Workshop, which is the last scheduled activity of the one-day seminar. I’ve heard seasoned bloggers talk about their food and travel experiences. Too bad I don’t even have a pen to take down notes. Now I can hardly recall anything said by the panelists. 🙁

Me and Rossel

We met Rossel and Ning Buning after the seminar, took a couple of pictures with them, look around for books at the mini book fair found at the lobby, and purchased a couple of books before we head off to SM Fairview.
