I saw this picture from my old file. I’m not sure where this one was taken. I only have National Museum or the National Historical Institute in mind as source of this picture. Anyway, this chest ornate has caught my interest. I thought it was a treasure chest that stores gold bullion. But a brief note at the back of the picture tells that the chest was used as repository of the 1935 Constitution and serves as one of the original collections of the Museum. The showcase also contains the copy of President Manuel L. Quezon’s Oath of Office and various documents from the Commonwealth Period.
