We Are Vaccinated!

Have you had your Covid19 vaccine yet? I hope you did. Getting vaccinated the soonest possible time protects yourself and the people around you.

Covid19 vaccines will give you an extra layer of protection against the severe effects of the virus.

My family was able to register with the LGU-supported registration site online. We finally got our doses separately a few weeks later.

Hubby, myself, and our daughter are fully vaccinated now. Our son will have his second dose a few days from now. I’m glad that we were allowed to get the vaccine at the right time. Many are still waiting for their vaccine schedule in our area.

Three of us are on the priority list being in the A3 category or those with comorbidities. Health experts said Covid19 vaccines prevent possible hospitalization and emergency room visits due to severe illness.

As for the vaccine side effects, what we experienced were all the common ones. These include pain at the injection site, mild fever (for me), the feeling of weakness or fatigue, and headaches for a couple of days.

Get the available Covid19 vaccine if you are not vaccinated yet. Protect yourself, the people you care about, and those you meet outside your homes.

Even when you are vaccinated, health experts remind the public to observe the minimum health protocol. Wash your hands frequently, wear a face mask, practice social distancing in public or crowded places.

Here at home, we wear face masks when we do not feel well. We do not know what afflicts us, so we wear face masks to be safe. We do not eat together, keep our distance when talking to each other. And we sleep in separate rooms.

3 Tips for Blending Into Your Environment

When you are out and about, things can go downhill quickly. People may start attacking others with very little warning. That is why it is important to avoid becoming an easy target. If you follow the guidelines below, you can get a sense of what it takes to protect yourself from threats by subtly camouflaging yourself like a chameleon.

1. Dress With Purpose

The part of you that many folks will notice first is what you are wearing. If you don’t want to draw attention to yourself, you should put on clothes that fit the style of those around you. Definitely take the season into consideration. If you are sporting a giant coat in the middle of summer, you are definitely going to be spotted.

As far as weapons are concerned, you may think about concealed carrying so that you won’t immediately stand out. If you decide to do this, you can keep your gun readily available by wearing a concealed thigh holster. This can give you a heads up in terms of strategy.

2. Act the Part

Preparation does not end by adjusting your wardrobe. You also need to mold your behavior to fit your mission. Avoid chatting with strangers other than by using small talk or pleasantries. Do not engage in conversations that revolve around politics or religion because you cannot predict how others will respond. Think twice before making eye contact in large cities where people may take this act as a sign of aggression.

3. Observe Your Surroundings

Now that you have adapted your behavior, it is time to pay attention to what is happening around you. Pinpoint anyone who is looking nervously over their shoulders, for example. Check to see if any escape routes are blocked so that you can look for new ones in the case that someone starts chasing you. Keep track of the weather as well.

No one wants to find themselves in a situation where people want to harm others. However, you still need to anticipate many possibilities.

Virtual Toast for the Holidays

Despite repeated warnings by health experts, many continuously violate the health and safety protocols of Covid19. We have seen people posting on social media big gatherings of family members with their relatives and friends outside their home on Christmas Eve.

Face-to-face parties outside the home are still prohibited this holiday season. Why don’t we listen to the warnings of experts? This way, we can protect ourselves and our loved ones from getting Covid.

On New Year’s Eve, please do not invite your relatives and friends to any physical parties. There is too much at stake if you hold an activity outdoors. Why not invite them to a zoom party. People are doing this worldwide. I think a virtual party is more fun and does not require you to dress up and prepare a lot of food on the table. Let’s be patient, please. We have been in this situation for several months now; let’s wait for a few more until the vaccine reaches the country.

Even with the dramatic turn of events, let us claim a better 2021 for everyone.  Happy holidays and please stay safe.

Let’ have a virtual toast for a healthier life in 2021!
