You might want to bear these *tips in mind when covering mommy events:

1. Make sure to take photos of all the speakers and presenters in the event
2. Capturing 2 or 3 slides from audio-visual presentation will also prove beneficial
3. Take a photo of the attendees would also seem like a practical thing to do. Of course, it will be hard to round up all the participants in a single photo, so you can also do this in small groups
4. You can also take videos of presentations, especially if it involves cooking or other product demonstration like kenneth cole reaction shoes.
5. Capturing candid mommy/child moment of the participants will also be a good idea.

I found my son’s baptism invitation card in my photo box while I was looking for an old picture of mine. The invitation was one of the unsent baptism cards that were hidden somewhere. The cards were supposed to be given to some of our friends at the office, but hubby and I decided to keep the guest list limited to our relatives and few neighbor friends. I made it to the first Christmas party for bloggers yesterday. I wasn’t supposed to attend because I don’t have a cowboy costume. The group suggested for cowboy attire complete with boots and hat. I thought finding special occasion dresses is a lot easier than looking for cowboy outfit. It turned out that one can buy the whole cowboy get up from ukay-ukay or thrift stores. Some of the attendees got their killer boots and branded hats from the thrift shop.

I didn’t bother to look for boots or hats though. Peh provided my hat and I came with my usual attire – flat shoes, jeans and checkered polo which I borrowed from my husband.

Although there were a handful of mommy bloggers who made it to the event, the occasion turned out to be a big success. It was fun and no one left the venue without carrying a loot bag or two and prizes from sponsors. I think another event is in the offing according to Joy who is the party organizer and host.

I hope more mommies will get invited next time.

I notice the increasing number of  high school batchmates joining our Facebook group. I have seen a few classmates in third year, but I don’t have the guts to add them to my friends list. I’m a bit shy to connect with them maybe I’ll wait for them to initiate the invitation.

I couldn’t help but wonder why the good looking girls in my batch maintain their youthful look. Although they gain pounds they still look the same pretty girls in their elegant prom dresses 23 years ago. I will be more than happy to see them in person especially those who belong in my class. I think they are cooking up an event this December. I have to check that out.

Ask any child what he likes for Christmas and he would surely go for toys. I have two kids who grew up loving every toy given to them. Some of their toys are still with us, some I shared to the kids in the neighborhood or friends. I have young niece and nephews who would surely be delighted to receive some of those toys this Christmas.

If you’re also planning to buy toys for your own kids and godchildren please be aware of the kind of toys you will give them. Just be careful not to pick up toys that may contain lead-based paint which are harmful to health. Only lead test kits can verify the presence of lead in toys. My idea of a birthday cake for you – A circuit board cake!

Remember my post about my son’s request for a Halloween costume for the school play? I might really look for Awesome Halloween Costumes this time as he won’t stop bugging me until I get him what he wants. I wish I can find something at the thrift shop or the second-hand store that we regularly visit.

I’m not really sure what character my son will portray I have yet to ask him. But if he is interested I can make a personalized costume for him and still save on expenses. With old clothes from the cabinet and colorful paints that are safe for kids, I can come up with a zombie costume. I could make my son look like one too with the help of a video tutorial on how to make zombie make up. He would surely stand out, I mean look scary, if I get the right color mixture and effect that I want to create for a zombie character.

Here’s what you need if you want to create a zombie effect. Prepare the following – tissue paper, liquid latex (or the regular white school glue) and basic make-up kit. You may also want to check how the makeup is done here. Have fun, but be careful with applying glue and make-up for any allergic reaction. Do it with adult supervision just to be safe.

I made it to the ParenTIN tv event last Saturday and was happy to see fellow mommy bloggers present at the occasion. I thought I will not make it to the affair because I’m a bit embarrassed to be seen by my friends with this acne problem. I should have checked on possible acne solutions days before the event so the little red patches on my face would have subsided by then.

I think lack of enough sleep has worsened my skin problem.

Pregnant mommy can still have acne too. This is me when I was pregnant with my second child.

Both father and son were busy cutting out campaign materials for the Pupil Government Organization (PGO). I wasn’t able to help them because I was busy doing a write up on 5th wheel warranty or service plan for trailers around that time.

Khalil did not win the election, but its okay with him. He had fun distributing these colorful hand-outs to his schoolmates during the campaign.
