We don’t mince words when both of us need something. I learned that from hubby when we were starting as husband and wife. He said being vocal in a relationship prevents future disagreement.

When we need something at home we discuss about it first. If we can afford something like heated mattress pads in the budget, then we will buy it. He knows that our kids sleep comfortably on the bed with soft mattress pad especially during the rainy or cold months. So we will prioritize it in the budget. That’s how it works between my husband and me. He doesn’t need so much convincing when he knows that the item would be beneficial for the whole family especially our kids.
