If your kitchen is outdated or poorly designed, consider a remodel. Upgrades like new countertops, cabinets, and appliances can go a long way in making your kitchen more functional and attractive.
  2. Bathroom Upgrades: A clean and modern bathroom is a major selling point for any home. Consider upgrades like a new vanity, lighting, and fixtures, and add fresh paint and new tile to make your bathroom look brand new.
  3. Landscaping: The exterior of your home is the first thing people see, so it’s important to make a good impression. Improve your curb appeal by adding plants, trees, and flowers, and keep your lawn well-maintained.
  4. Energy-Efficient Windows: Energy-efficient windows can help reduce your energy bills and increase your home’s value. They can also help keep your home more comfortable year-round by reducing drafts and heat loss.
  5. Roof Replacement: If your roof is old or damaged, it’s time for a replacement. Not only will a new roof make your home look better, but it will also protect your home from water damage and other issues.

DIY home improvement inspiration

I’m really inspired by a good friend who was able to improve the looks of her home through do-it-yourself home improvement projects that she and her husband initiated. They change paint and even install DIY sticky floor tiles. I told my husband that we can get some inspiration from them that instead of hiring someone to do all the repairs inside their home; they do the difficult tasks by themselves.

This year we were able to finally fix our children’s rooms. We hired carpenters to do the ceiling and roof repair. Now we are thinking of having both rooms painted. And we plan on doing it by ourselves. Hubby and I need to invest on paints and brushes to start the project soon.

Painting the roof green

We have saved a total of P4,800 or more than $100 for the gallons of paints (3 cans remain unopened) used for the painting of our roof. Hubby got the paints from the office. They were not actually free, but the total cost was deducted from his accumulated number of leaves. The good thing about it is that we didn’t shell out a single peso or scout for silver eagle prices for the painting job. Hubby did the painting all by himself. Great job, hon!
